DESIGN TIPS FOR WORKING FROM HOME

So, you are working from home and you love it! You should. No more rushing to get ready to beat that unbearable traffic. It is a win. Here are some ideas that can help to transform your workspace and organize your schedule.

MAKE IT PERSONAL

You are working from home. Take the time to make it the place you want to be in. Add elements that reflect your style. I enjoy surrounding myself with my favorite books and articles. They help me with my work because I am constantly feeding my mind with new ideas and thoughts and gaining various perspectives. Open your windows and let that natural light dominate the room.

ELIMINATE CLUTTER

Go to the store and get storage totes and label, fill and store them.

DOUBLE DUTY

Let your space do double duty. Your dining room can also be used as your home office.

Choose functional furniture. This is ideal if you live in a tiny apartment. Choose a sofa bed instead of a sofa. Your coffee table can also be your dining table.

CREATE A ROUTINE

Create a routine and stick to it. Manage your time and be aware of distractions.

Take a break. You get recharged when you do. Go to the park, the beach, smell the air.

MANAGE YOUR EXPECTATION

Be flexible with your schedule. I just mentioned sticking to your routine, so this is not being counterproductive. Sometimes your schedule gets interrupted, and the situation is out of your control. However, many times the outcome turns out to be better than your previous plan.

REST

Take time to allow your heart and mind to be at rest. When God called you into purpose, He already saw your days. Whatever He has called you to do, He has given you the wisdom, his grace and the power to fulfil your task and daily to-do list.
